Pack-Man and Ms. Pack-Man

One of the great things about travel is the night before. The anticipation of escape. The excitement of planning excursions in a new city. Plus, it gives you an excuse to eat all the food in your house so that it doesn't go bad. That's what I do.

"I better eat all these chips and salsa. Otherwise they'll go bad. Oh and these Skittles. Can't leave these out. They'll spoil! This beer's gotta go too. Can't just throw it out though, that's a waste. Better drink it. Whew! Got a busy night ahead."

It also helps me avoid packing.

Packing is hard work. We ordered pizza for strength. We opened wine to keep things interesting. Always double-check what you've packed if you pack while drinking. That way you don't have to explain to a TSA agent why you have a bag full of miniature pirate ships and fireworks. And believe me, they'll ask. They've got nothing better to do. Also, apparently "This was hilarious when I was drunk" is not a valid explanation. Go figure. Anyway, double check the luggage, my little Bukowskis. Trust me on this. I'm a professional.

Carisa is bringing all of her clothes, just in case no one has any in Tokyo. She's very thoughtful.

Here's my bag. As you can see, I'm prepared for any situation.  I've got a Green Lantern book. In case I lose that, I've got another Green Lantern book. Plus, I've got at least three shirts. Three shirts people! Professional. I've even left room for fireworks.

Well enough dawdling. These cupcakes certainly aren't going to eat themselves.

  1. Artfully presented pizza. William Gibson is fantastic, been a big fan since Neuromancer. Haven't read this one though. Love to know your thoughts.
    Have a safe trip.
